Traditional Italian fare

ViVa is a beautiful new Italian restaurant located just off Aotea Square.

Ideal for a pre or post show meal in the arts precinct, the decor of this welcoming new spot will transport you to a bistro in Rome with alluring mood lighting, scenes from the old country on the walls and delicious Italian wine on display.

Choose from a menu of Italian classics, to start with, we recommend the semolina crusted calamari with verdura matchsticks, agrodolce and lemon. For the next course try the pappadelle with braised lamb shank, tomato and rosemary or maybe split a crispy pizza (we loved the prosciutto option).

If you're really feeling hungry, go for something from the 'Secondi' or main course section - prime beef served with rosemary potatoes and garlic butter, herb cristed chicken scallopini or the succulent poached Tarakihi fillets served with fennel and white wine.

Leave on a sweet note with one of Viva's delectable 'Dolce' dishes - our recommendation has to be the classic Tiramisu, prepared perfectly and oh so addictive.
