The three-act structure is a key principle of storytelling. But what do the three acts of a creator’s own life look like? Three exceptional wāhine Māori artists and writers at three pivotal stages of their personal and creative lives explore how the world changes and what truly matters for wāhine artists, whether that’s in the early days, in the middle ground or in later life.
Ngahuia Te Awekotuku (Te Arawa, Tūhoe, Ngāpuhi, Waikato) (academic, author and activist), Miriama McDowell (actor, playwright and director) and Manaia Tuwhare-Hoani (poet and educator) speak and perform. Facilitated by Hariata Moriarty (Ngāti Toarangatira, Ngāti Kahungunu ki Te Wairoa, Ngā Puhi Hokianga ki te Raki) (actor and lawyer).
This session will be mostly in te reo with simultaneous English translation.
