While Chinese culture is visible across Auckland it is predominantly experienced via our broad array of restaurants or on occasion, at New Year festivities.
Bledisloe Lanterns provides a platform for eight Chinese artists to present their work in a public forum no longer framed by festivities or food.
A series of large light boxes act as modern day lanterns, echoing the traditional role of the lantern by bringing light to symbolism, stories and ideas around the identity of Chinese in Auckland.
