Christmas in the City

With the festive season over for another year, we are not quite ready to let go of that holiday feeling and are enjoying looking back at some of our highlights from this Christmas in the city centre...

Late Night Christmas
Over 90 stores opened their doors late for last minute shoppers to find the perfect gifts plus they were entertained with a free street festival with over 70 performances happening in and around Queen Street.

Farmers Santa Parade
One of our favourite events of the year was back again, providing kids and adults alike to see the man himself and a host of other floats parading down Queen Street.

Smith & Caughey's Christmas Windows and Enchanted Forest
A treasured event for many Auckland families during Christmas is a trip to Smith & Caughey's to visit Santa and his enchanted forest, along with checking out the creative festive window display, that paid homage to The Nutcracker this year.

Christmas Decorations in the Central City
Including Santa on the corner of Queen Street and Victoria Street East, along with his reindeer, are an Auckland city Christmas icon and one of the most 'Instagrammed' sights around during the festive season.

Christmas at Silo Park
The ever-popular Silo Cinema returned for another season in December, with their annual Christmas Film. Silo Cinema sessions continue in January, offering a great night of free entertainment for the family.

SKYCITY Christmas Wonderland
There was fun for the whole family at SKYCITY's Christmas Wonderland, with the Fed Street Christmas Festival, photos with Santa, Christmas markets and plenty of festive entertainment for the whole family.
