Dior

On Queen Street

Dior on Queen Street has opened its beautiful doors with stunning watches, jewellery, shoes and fashion on offer to you straight from Paris. Visiting the Dior boutique on Queen Street is an experience in itself, the theme of the decor is Versaille with different shades of grey and silver the background to the luminous designs beautifully displayed everywhere you look.

When trying on clothes at Dior you are treated to a dressing room with a difference. Once the doors are closed behind you it feels like you're standing in Dior's Parisian living room surrounded by mirrors and complete with views of the Versaille gardens.

It's hard to stop yourself from trying on every piece of jewellery in the store as well as the signature watches - most of which are fitted with mesmerising diamonds - as the lighting makes everything sparkle adding a delightful glamour to whatever you are wearing.

Shopping with Dior easily trumps your routine shopping experiences as acquiring a piece of Dior fashion means you are receiving a timeless work of art which is now part of a long fashion lineage with origins reaching back to the 1940s.

Although Dior as a brand has consistently supplied women and men around the world with clothing, shoes, accessories and all manners of fashion that are elegant and dripping with luxury, the theme of the House of Dior is renewal, revitalisation and revolution.

This way of thinking began with the brand’s founder and namesake – Christian Dior. When he first began to runway his creations in the 1940s he was lauded as the “new look” of the decade. His view of women’s fashion celebrated frivolity, the art of the seduction and the beauty of the female form in a time that was defined by rationing, gloom and uniformity.

This “new look revolution” has endured over  60 years at the center stage of the fashion world and Auckland City can now enjoy a slice of Dior’s luxury and creativity right in the heart of the city.
