Easy Fine Dining

The original Wellington-based Matterhorn has always been more than just a restaurant; it’s an experience, with remarkable dining in a comfortable, unique setting.

Matterhorn represents fine dining in an easy, laid back atmosphere.

Since the Matterhorn was established in 1963 by two Swiss brothers, it has been a haven for misfits, musicians and above all lovers of delicious food and wine. The restaurant has garnered plenty of accolades in its time, quickly becoming a New Zealand dining institution.

With this new Auckland location at Victoria Park Market, the new owners and chefs of the Matterhorn want to keep the feeling of ‘fine dining with your shoes off’ hospitality that keeps people coming back to the Wellington location time and again.

Sean Marshall’s new menu combines brand new dishes with reinvented classics such as wild rabbit with carrot and cardamom entrée and of course the old signature favourites such as the plate of duck.

The food at Matterhorn is spectacular.
