Tucked behind a bamboo screen on Federal Street, Huami Bar offers a sanctuary in the heart of the bustling inner city precinct. Sister to SkyCity's Chinese restaurant Huami, it’s the ideal spot for a quiet drink or to start that big night ahead.

Taking you back to 1920s Shanghai, perch up at the bar, cosy up in a booth out back or take in the view at a table in front, all while enjoying a specialty cocktail or two.

The Huami Bar offers an exclusive range of armagnac, cognac and whisky as well as a specially developed cocktail list.

Showcasing traditional Chinese flavours, the impressive cocktail list includes the Royal 75, an elegant combination of lychee, gin and orange topped with perrier-jouët champagne, the Sparkling Kiwi with chinese goosebery (kiwifruit) shaken up with lime and voka and the Shanghai Sour, frothy with white rum, pineapple, maraschino and spiced grenadine.

The impressive whisky wall displays some of the finest cognac and armagnac in New Zealand while the extensive wine list was curated by New Zealand's only Master Sommelier, Cameron Douglas. Unique to Huami is its very own Chinese rice wine (baijiu), sourced directly from China - a must-try if you're looking for something authentic.

Developed by Executive Chef Jeff Tan, Huami’s bold flavours and modern take on traditional Chinese cuisine can be enjoyed at the bar with the full à la carte menu available for lunch and dinner. Or for something lighter so as not to take the focus off your liquid refreshment, grab a bite to eat from the bar menu

$2 per hour to a max of $12 on weekends and a $12 flat rate for weekday evenings at The Civic car park. Find out more
