Wynyard Quarter's 7th Birthday

Your favourite waterfront precinct is turning seven and to celebrate there's a whole day of free activities to entertain the whole family.

Greet the sun with sunrise tai chi, hop on board the Auckland Tram for a sing-along with the Dixie band, join the circus with Cirque Du Silo, and bring your blankets and picnics to watch a movie at Silo Cinema! 

From dawn till dusk, there’s something for everyone. Check out a selection of the fabulous offerings below and we hope to see you there!

Dawn Karakia 
Karanga Plaza – 7am 
This morning karakia overlooking the spectacular Waitemata will be led by Ngati Whatua.

Sunrise tai chi 
Karanga Plaza – 7.30-8.30am 
Join Wayne Duncan with Taiji for the body, mind and spirit.

Crossfit on the wharf  
Eastern Edge of Halsey Wharf – 9.30-10.30am 
Join Crossfit Propolis and Andfit for a fun, friendly crossfit session for all levels of fitness on the waterfront. (Bookings are recommended here).

Kids gone fishing 
North Wharf – 10am – 12pm 
Join the New Zealand Blue Light Team with Kids Gone Fishin’ on the waterfront. Free bait, handlines and spot prizes just bring along a rod, an adult and a sunhat.

Auckland Dockline Tram 
Daldy Street – 10am – 4pm. The Dixie jazz band on board 1-3pm.
The popular heritage tramway, Auckland Dockline Tram, will be offering rides for a gold-coin donation. The Dixie Jazz band will provide entertainment on board Tram 881 from 1-3pm as it trundles back and fourth from the Tram Shed on Daldy Street to temporary terminus in Halsey Street.

Heritage Marina classic boats on display 
Heritage Marina – 10am – 4pm  
The beautiful classic wooden boats are some of the finest in Auckland’s fleet. The signal flags are up and the skippers aboard – wander down on to the pontoon for a friendly chin wag and check them out.

Food Space and Sounds 
Silo Park – 10am-4pm 
Lunch time at Silo Park is sorted with a delicious line-up of street food stalls and DJ.

Pirate themed street games on Daldy
Daldy Street – 11am–3pm
The Open Fort will be facilitating an afternoon of pirate-themed games and creative play for all ages.  Test your luck (and win some treasure!) fending off giant sea monsters and help us fill our giant sea with pirate ships!

Yoga and meditation
Eastern Edge of Halsey Wharf – 12-1pm
Our Eastern Viaduct regulars Bikes & Bends are back presenting their yoga and meditation demonstration. Bring your mat and join in.

Cirque Du Silo with 3 Ring Riot  
Playspace, Silo Park – 12.30am – 3.30pm 
Wynyard Quarter favourites, 3 Ring Riot are hosting a fun and colourful circus zone that has workshops for all ages and abilities, circus games and fun activities for the whole family!  Look out for the Stilt walkers from 1.30-2.30pm.

Tango Dancing with Auckland Tango
Karanga Plaza – 3pm-5pm 
Join in the timeless dance with Auckland Tango.

Silo Cinema  
Silo Park – 3pm-5pm
Get the family together, pack a picnic or enjoy the food and popcorn on offer at Silo park cinema and settle in for the musical romantic fantasy Beauty & the Beast.
