Exciting news!

Amid the #crl #cityraillink construction, Aucklanders will have the opportunity next month to walk through a section of the 3.45-kilometre-long tunnels.

Date: Sunday 17 November, hourly from 8am to 5pm
How: You’ll need a ticket (free) available online (via City Rail Link website): 6 November, limit 6 per person, you need to book for a specific hour.
Numbers: 10,000 total only
Where will you walk? You will be able to walk under lower Queen Street, the Commercial Bay development and into lower Albert Street – a return distance of 600 metres that will take about half-an-hour.
Who can/can't go: Space in the tunnels is confined. Access for those who use wheelchairs or mobility scooters is limited. There will be a lift and ramp for wheelchairs. Sorry, there can be no access for bikes, prams, pushchairs, scooters and skateboards.

The tunnels aren’t suitable for people who have a fear of being in a confined space, and there are low levels of lighting underground.

Where does it start? Entry and exit from the tunnels will be through the Britomart station
What time can you go? When tickets are available, you can book for a specific hour. There will be 10 entry sessions during the day. To keep people safe underground, each session will be restricted to 1000 people.
What shoes should you wear? You're encouraged to wear sensible, flat shoes.
