Jean Seberg Double Feature - Academy Cinemas

Jean Seberg Double Feature at Academy Cinemas

To celebrate the release of Seberg, starring Kristin Stewart as the French New Wave darling Jean Seberg, Academy Cinemas are screening perhaps her finest performance in Lilith (1964) on Sunday 2 February.

Tickets for Lilith are only $10! (Standard costs apply for Seberg)

Lilith (1964) - 4pm

The final film by the great, yet underrated Robert Rossen (ALL THE KING'S MEN, THE HUSTLER) is a compelling tale of love, madness, and forbidden desire. Warren Beatty (MICKEY ONE, THE FORTUNE) stars as a young war veteran who takes a job as on orderly in a local asylum and falls under the spell of beautiful schizophrenic, Lilith (Jean Seberg – BREATHLESS, BONJOUR TRISTESSE).

Seberg (2020) - 6pm and 6.15pm

Seberg is inspired by true events about the French New Wave darling and Breathless star, Jean Seberg (Kristen Stewart), who in the late 1960s was targeted by the FBI because of her support of the civil rights movement and romantic involvement with Hakim Jamal (Anthony Mackie), among others. In Benedict Andrews’ noir-ish thriller, Seberg’s life and career are destroyed by Hoover’s overreaching surveillance and harassment in an effort to suppress and discredit Seberg’s activism.

Park for $2 per hour, to a maximum of $10 on evenings and weekends at the Victoria St car park. Find out more.
