Introduction to Māori Mindfulness

Mindfulness today directs us towards remembering and re-activating ancient, timeless practices of cultivating ORA/ life-giving wellness in and through our presence; aligned, energised and capable.

Grounded in Te Ao Māori healing traditions and cultural philosophy, Cathy translates old and time tested knowledge into practical and unique approaches for accessing and applying our abilities to create and live in well-being today. These profound yet simple practices are accessible and relatable to any person of any background, while giving participants a refreshing view into the Maori world.

Are you managing or struggling with anxiety, depression, detachment, PTSD and/or are looking for practical ways to support your own healing and transformation? Come and learn about easy movement, breathing and sound techniques that can be practiced daily to support, manage and care for the well-being of our full selves; tinana/body, hinengaro/mind and wairua/spirit.

This session is to introduce you to the background and foundations of this practice, to try some of the basics and answer any appropriate questions. For those interested in learning and applying this practice in their own lives there will be more information given on the night about up-coming courses that you can sign up for. FREE entry.

Park for $2 per hour, to a maximum of $10 on evenings and weekends at the Victoria St car park. Find out more.
