Dining in the Dark at Rydges

Dans le Noir? (French for 'Dining in the Dark') at Rydges Auckland is an unforgettable culinary, social and human experience in the heart of the city.

Already successful internationally, Dining in the Dark is a unique sensory experience of eating in complete darkness, guided and served by low vision or blind people.

Absolute darkness awakens senses and enables guests to completely re-evaluate their perception of taste and smell. It also eradicates shyness and fosters free conviviality erasing preconceptions, making communication more intense, authentic and spontaneous.

For your experience, you have a choice of surprise two-course, three-course or five-course fine dining menus adapted to total darkness and assisted by unexpected guides. Additional wine pairings will enrich this experience even further.

The menus come in three variations. You can go for the Trust the Chef, Seafood or Vegan option. The menu is revamped every two months, so if you're thinking of embarking on this experience more than once, the contents of your plate are still a surprise.

Come along to Dans le Noir? to challenge your preconceptions and to embark on a once in a lifetime adventure.

This dining experience is available from Thursday to Saturday, with arrival times between 6.30 and 7.30pm.
