Archived: Auckland Diwali Festival 2017

Celebrating the best of Auckland’s vibrant Indian culture

A free, family-friendly festival bringing the flavours, sights and sounds of Indian culture to life in the heart of Auckland.

Celebrate traditional and contemporary Indian culture in its many forms, with live music, dance, street theatre and puppetry performances, food and craft stalls, the hotly contested Radio Tarana Bollywood dance competition and activities for kids.

This festival, which draws people from all ethnic backgrounds, is also New Zealand’s largest vegetarian festival, with a vast range of Indian foods and sweets.

The two-day festival is capped off with a fireworks display on Sunday night.

The Auckland Diwali Festival is presented by Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) and founding partner Asia New Zealand Foundation.
