Micro-festival of Food, Music & Art

streetARTdego is a free festival of art and food taking place during Heart of the City’s Late Night Art event on Tuesday 10 October from 5-9pm.

Part of Artweek, streetARTdego pairs five street food chefs and five contemporary artists to create a unique menu and art experience for one night only in Te Hā o Hine, (Khartoum Place).

streetARTdego LINE-UP

HAERE MAI TAIKO AND JUDGE BAO - 5.30PM
Haere Mai Taiko perform Japanese taiko music paired with modern Chinese pop up eatery Judge Bao. The beloved veterans of Auckland’s street food scene, working alongside traditional taiko drummers will bring a collision of cultures, flavours, sounds and energy to the festival.

COURTNEY SINA MEREDITH AND THE PIE PIPER - 6.30PM
Poet, playwright, fiction writer and musician meets The Pie Piper, K’ Road’s infamous donut and sweet-pie baking mother-daughter duo to explore feminism, family values and politics through spoken work and edible treats.

A.C. FREAZY (ALEX FREER) AND LALELE ORGANICS - 7.30PM
A.C Freazy, from Tiny Ruins, Bespin and Clap Clap Riot, brings shimmering synths, programmed drum hits and flanged guitars to headline streetARTdego. Inspired by Lalele’s philosophy of natural food and organics, Freazy will perform a new composition, while Lalele will respond to the sounds with a icy taste sensation of mandarin and ginger sorbet.

HUBBUB AND WISE BOY BURGERS
Digital artist collective Hubbub exhibit Finding Under Noise, an interactive, digital story of noise finding beauty, using characters created by intermediate school children. Teamed with ‘new kids on the block’ Wise Boys Burgers, who are serving innovative, plant based burgers from their roaming sustainable shack.

LA LUMIERE AND PUHA & PĀKEHĀ
La Lumiere’s Kristina Ercolano’s light installation transforms the trees at Te Hā o Hine (formerly Khartoum Place) to reflect a shimmering urban glow worm cave. Puha & Pakeha will bring modern Māori cuisine, serving lamb and horopito bites with earthy flavours and darker hues against a bright sauce to contrast and compliment the light installation.
