Archived: Evanescent Monuments

An exhibition by Chris Corson-Scott

Trish Clark Gallery presents Evanescent Monuments, a rich suite of Chris Corson-Scott’s new photographs that call our attention to the past before it disappears entirely.

Reminding us of our collective dependence upon, and necessary care of, the natural world, the artist’s understanding of patterns of human behaviour is mirrored by his sensitive capture of light, which remains the equivalent subject in his highly pertinent images of forgotten historical sites.

Corson-Scott produces haunting images within a global conceptual discourse, while revealing photography’s attempt to arrest the fleeting moment.

Having exhibited consistently in New Zealand and internationally, his work is in the Collections of Auckland Art Gallery, Chartwell, Christchurch Art Gallery, MFAT and Wallace Arts Trust.

Open - Tue–Fri 12pm–5pm, Sat 12pm–4pm
