Art After Hours returns to Auckland Art Gallery, with an evening of food drinks, art and entertainment inspired by international feminist art activists, the Guerrilla Girls! Join us as we stay open until 10pm, and experience art as activism, comedy with an edge, music to move to and The Guerrilla Girls’ unique brand of ‘creative complaining’.

Featuring:

  • DJ Half Queen: Half Queen (Auckland, NZ) is part of your local wahine-gang whose DJ sets are just as unapologetic and empowered as her presence in every space.
  • Storytelling with Angella Dravid: Comedian Angella Dravid’s storytelling has a dark edge and comedic spin.
  • Two Steps Forward, One Step Back – Panel Discussion: Join arts professionals from around New Zealand for a conversation about inclusivity and the visibility of women in New Zealand visual arts.
  • BYO Vinyl Session: The Singles Going Steady 7”s Open Deck crew invite you to be the DJ. Bring your records by women musicians, sign up for a slot, step up and spin.
  • Food and drink: Taste test from our menu of themed cocktails, treat yourself with Lalele Organic Gelato and more.
  • And more: Enjoy badge-making, as well as Quick Sketch Gang’s 10-minute portraits, interactive art and pop-up art talks throughout the night.

Art After Hours also includes access to all current exhibitions, including Guerrilla Girls: Reinventing the ‘F’ Word – Feminism! with its interactive artwork I'm Not a Feminist, but If I Was, This Is What I Would Complain About….

Purchase a ticket for admission to Art After Hours only OR purchase a combined ticket with coinciding event, Gig: Guerrilla Girls at Auckland Art Gallery featuring an exclusive appearance by ‘Frida Kahlo,’ one of the founding members of the Guerrilla Girls.
