From blockbuster exhibitions and ice cream market, to a showcase of international street performers, to a one-of-a-kind music festival, the central city is where it's at this long weekend.

Vector Lights Launch Show
27 - 29 January 2018, Auckland Harbour Bridge

This Anniversary Weekend, the iconic Auckland Harbour Bridge will come to life with Vector Lights,  a world-first solar, battery and peer-to-peer powered light show that demonstrates a smarter way to power our city. The six minute specially-composed Vector Lights opening show sequence will feature original music and spectacular lighting effects, vividly demonstrating the new lighting capabilities. The Art of Banksy

If you haven't seen this blockbuster exhibition yet, the long weekend is a great opportunity to do so. Experience 80 original pieces from one of the most notorious and talked-about street artists in the world, including the famous painting of the girl with the red balloon.

Auckland Live Summer in the Square

Start the long weekend with an 80's dance party at the central city's biggest backyard. On Saturday, grab a deckchair, soak up the sun and relax to the sounds of DJs and live music. 

International Buskers Festival 2018

This Anniversary Weekend, the streets of the central city will come to life with acrobatics, magic, comedy, dance, unicycles and glorious street theatre. Get your family together to enjoy mesmerising performances from excellent performers from all over the world.

Tāmaki Herenga Waka Festival
27 - 29 January 2018, ANZ Viaduct Events Centre

Experience the rich Māori heritage and culture of Tāmaki Makaurau, linked to 19 different mana whenua groups. Enjoy live traditional and contemporary music and kapa haka, authentic crafts and delicious kai (food), traditional healing and tattooing, and paddled and sailing waka.

Ice Cream Sundae Market at Silo Park
28 January 2018, Silo Park

Silo Park will host the inaugural Ice Cream Sundae market, an abundance of sweet treats to scoop up from 12pm - 6pm. Alongside your favourite icy delights will be other desserts, a hot selection of Auckland’s finest food trucks, hot drinks from the Good Karma coffee truck, as well as DJs and some modern twists on Ice Cream inspired drinks from the pop up Silo bar.

Head to Albert Park to hear excellent local and international bands perform live at this much-loved music festival. While enjoying the stellar line-up, you can also savour some delicious street food and take in the green surrounds of Albert Park.
