Our round-up of takeaway lunches for when you're short on time, but still want your afternoon meal to be amazing.

Fukuko Sushi Bar

Check out the new Fukuko Sushi Bar for the best sushi in town. They also serve delicious sushi burritos and poke bowls. Don’t fret – Fukuko’s cult classics like the fried chicken and salt and pepper squid are still on the menu.

Shaka Bowl

Hawaiian poke bowls are hard to beat. They are a quick, healthy and full of flavour. Shaka Bowl have mastered the art of a perfect poke bowl with raw salmon or tuna and a mix of fresh vegetables served on rice or salad. Vegetarian options are also available.  

Got Pasta

For a hearty lunch, try the scrumptious pasta dishes at Got Pasta on Elliott. Fresh pasta is made right before your eyes and then served with a variety of traditional Italian sauces and your choice of cheese. It’s a simple lunch, but an extremely satisfying one.

The Store

A great place for a long lunch, The Store also offers some great options for those in a rush.  At lunch time, check out their salad bar to create your own salad from a selection of meats, vegetables and dressings. Make sure you get there early – it gets quite busy in the afternoon.

Kai Eatery

Kai Eatery is a mecca of Taiwanese street food.  You won’t miss their bright orange container where you can get authentic fried chicken, kumara fries with a twist and heavenly green tea and red bean bao buns. 

Little Bird Unbakery

One of our favourite health food spots in town, Little Bird offers a variety of lunch options and treats. For a quick bite, opt for their cabinet food including a range of mouth-watering salads and vegetarian takes on traditional salmon bagels and BLTs. If you’re feeling more indulgent, try their cakes – delicious and guilt-free.  

Hello Mister

The colourful Vietnamese street food spot is a gem for those looking for a lunch on-the-go. Warm up with a pho bowl, savour a range of rice rolls with flavoursome fillings or enjoy a perfect banh mi roll.   

Jango Mumbai Street Food

Head to Jango on Elliott Street for some tasty Indian street food on the go. Traditional vada pavs with potato patty, chutney and a mix of Indian spices make a quick and filling lunch.
