Inedit Damm, Marvel Grill and Hartsyard are collaborating for Restaurant Month

One of Sydney’s coolest chef’s, famed for his fried chicken and fantastical ice-cream creations, is coming to town for Auckland Restaurant Month.

Inedit Damm by Estrella Damm and Marvel Grill are pleased to present a dining collaboration with chef Gregory Llewellyn of Hartsyard on August 4 and 5.  This exceptional culinary experience, hosted at Marvel Grill in Auckland’s Wynyard Quarter, will feature canapés and cocktails followed by four courses, with a matching beverage for every course.

Opened in 2012, Hartsyard, located in central Sydney suburb Newtown, has been hailed by critics and diners alike as one of the city’s best restaurants, offering modern-American cuisine with its roots in the deep South.  The restaurants’ signature dishes include pulled pork with maple bacon, yoghurt and apple; peanut butter and banana sundae featuring pretzel ice-cream, banana doughnut and salted fudge; and buttermilk fried chicken, which has become so famous it is the star of Llewellyn’s upcoming book. 

Llewellyn has designed one of the four courses specifically to be matched with Inedit Damm, a sophisticated malt and wheat beer created by world-famous chef Ferran Adrià.  Known around the world for his restaurant, elBulli – declared the world's best restaurants for a record five times – Ferran worked with his team of talented sommeliers and Estrella Damm’s master brewers to create a beer that could accompany and compliment the varied flavours of modern cuisine, such as Llewellyn’s.

In 2013 Llewellyn and the Hartsyard restaurant received a prestigious ‘hat’ (the Australian culinary equivalent of a Michelin Star) in the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide Awards.

Fried Chicken & Friends by Llewellyn and his partner (in life and business) Naomi Hart is a collection of down-home American-inspired recipes and is due to be published in Australia and New Zealand next month.
