Leave your car at home this Friday (December 18) and get home free on Auckland Transport (AT). From 4pm on Friday afternoon buses, trains and some ferry services will all be free to use to get you home safely.

Friday December 18 is the last day of work for many people in the city centre, and it's likely workers will enjoy a few celebratory drinks.
Auckland Transport and NZ Police are working together over the Christmas 2020 and New Year holiday period to reduce the number of instances of drink-driving on Auckland roads and that everyone gets home and safe. So in light of this, AT is offering free travel on most AT Metro services to provide a safe alternative to driving home. The offer is valid only after 4pm on Friday December 18, 2020.

AT HOP card users tag on and tag off as normal – your trip will be free if you commenced travel after 4pm.

This year Home Free also covers all day Saturday 19th December. This gives Aucklanders an ideal opportunity to use public transport to complete their Christmas Shopping.
