Live Music on Fort Street

From a one of a kind music event, to incredible exhibitions and amazing in store events, Saturday 24 March is a day to spend in the central city. Here's our guide to experience everything the final day of 4 Days of Fashion in the City has to offer in and around the Queen Street precinct:

  • A Certain Style: Bruce Papas Exhibition | Lippincott Room, Smith & Caughey’s
    10am – 4pm
    Start your Saturday at this beautifully curated exhibition presented by the New Zealand Fashion Museum (in partnership with Auckland Museum), showcasing the works of this New Zealand Fashion designer, who began as an apprentice right here in the heart of the city in 1946. 

  • Designer Garage Sale Market | Freyberg Place
    10am – 4pm
    Head to Freyberg Place and browse some amazing designer bargains at this unique market. Featuring brands such as; Flo & FrankieStrangely NormalChecks and more.

  • Resene NZ Fashion Tech Colour of Fashion Exhibition | Ellen Melville Centre
    10am – 3pm
    While you're in the area, pop into the Ellen Melville Centre and enjoy the works from students of the NZ Fashion Tech in this colourful exhibition.

After browsing these exhibitions and picking up some designer bargains, make your way up and down Queen Street where these brands and retailers have some great events happening in store:

  • Skechers – SKX & Treats | 222 Queen St
    10am – 2pm
    If you haven't had time to grab a bite to eat before beginning your day, this event is perfect, as you can shop while enjoying complimentary Yeah Bowl Poke, Supreme Coffee and juices in-store to keep you energised. ​

  • Stirling Sports – Paint it Pink  | 170 Queen St
    10am – 2pm
    Out and about with a group of girlfriends? Make sure you visit Stirling Sports, they'll be offering smoothies and manicures while you browse the store.

  • Walker & Hall – The Gems Behind the Jewels | 66 Queen St
    10am – 2pm
    A stunning exhibition of the Walker & Hall vintage jewellery collection will be on display, learn more about the stories behind the sparkle.

  • Pat Menzies – Converse Creations | 174 Queen St
    11am – 3pm
    Make sure you schedule in a stop at this central favourite, where artist Lizzie Snow aka 'fortyonehundred', will be customising pairs of Converse, making for a very unique and one of a kind purchase.​

  • Platypus – Beats & Sneaks | 162 Queen St
    12pm – 6pm
    It's a party in store with a Mystery Box activation, Best Ugly Bagels on site, DJ Coda Performing and an art Installation. Plus plenty of offers on the day.

  • Sunglass Hut – Get Customised with Your Fav Fashionistas | 62 Queen St
    1pm – 5pm
    Mingle with some of the city's top fashion influencers., plus with any purchase you can get a complimentary case personalised.

  • Live music from Chelsea Jade and Racing on Fort St           
    1pm - 3pm
    Don't miss out on one of the highlights of 4 Days of Fashion in the City, with this live concert on Fort Street, featuring Kiwi artists Racing (on stage at 1pm) and Chelsea Jade (on stage at 1.45pm). This street concert kicks off at 1pm, so make sure you are there in plenty of time to secure a good spot. ​​
