Late Night Christmas

With over 25 street performances and over 90 stores open late, you won't want to miss out on Late Night Christmas in the city centre.

Alongside an amazing range of dancing, singing and musical performances, there are some incredible performance artists that will be in and around the city centre on Thursday 20 December.

Plus, we have a handy map and performance schedule for you to download and print off for the night. (Please note times and locations accurate at time of publishing. Could be subject to change).

Circus in a Flash | Glow Performer
Performing:
Freyberg Place and Elliott Street - thanks to support from Auckland Council

Circus in a Flash is well known for bringing the magic of circus arts to any performance they are at. From juggling, to unicycling, to acrobatics and their mesmerising glow performance you won't want to miss seeing them.

Super Hero Second Line
Performing: 
Outside Farmers and MECCA

This subversive, New Orleans Second Line style band is comprised of performers from a range of backgrounds. This high energy band is a mixing pot of culture and play a mixture of popular traditional tunes and modern covers with a few of their own originals thrown in!

The Dust Palace Stilt Walkers
Performing:
Outside ASB - 171 Queen Street, Glassons, Farmers and MECCA

The Dust Palace is New Zealand's pre-eminent circus theatre company and pride themselves on creating engaging and entertaining experience. They will be bringing their height-defying stilt walking to Late Night Christmas.

Tinsel Monsters
Performing:
Outside Westpac - 75 Queen Street, ASB - 171 Queen Street, Glassons, Farmers and corner of Darby and Queen Streets

Like runaway Christmas baubles, the Tinsel Monsters are joyful, kooky and fun - they are great roving characters and will be fun to find during Late Night Christmas.

DJ Murry Sweetpants and the Shoulder Rubs
Performing: SAP Building Queen Street and Wyndham

After close to 20 years DJing, Murry Sweetpants recently teamed up with Percussionist, Martin Marshall to form 'Sweetpants & the Shoulder Rubs' after all, who doesn't love a shoulder rub?!   This added live element makes his tune selections even more infectious to get you dancing in the street.

Chinese Lion Dance
Performing: Outside H&M, Westpac 75 Queen Street and Ben Sherman - Jean Batten Place
