Vector Lights for Auckland Lantern Festival
1 to 4 March, Auckland Harbour Bridge

Vector Lights on Auckland Harbour Bridge will be lighting up in partnership with the Auckland Lantern Festival to welcome in the Year of the Dog. The spectacular light show starts at 8.30pm, then every half hour until midnight.

Chinese New Year Celebrations at SKYCITY
9 February - 3 March, SKYCITY

SKYCITY will come alive with exciting live entertainment, world class dining and much more. Take a walk in a special Chinese New Year garden, complete with cherry blossom and a romantic bridge walk, enjoy a showcase of traditional and contemporary Chinese entertainment including dragon dancers, calligraphy demonstrations, Chinese musicians and the famous dancing pandas, or savour the delicious Asian-inspired delights at the Night Markets.

Chinese New Year Concert: Treasures of a Nation

The prestigious Chinese Orchestra of China National Opera and Dance Drama Theater will make their way to New Zealand for a unique concert Treasures of a Nation that merges traditional Chinese style with contemporary music. The concert will take you on a fascinating musical journey, exploring the treasures of a nation and immersing yourself in a rich culture. 

Chinese New Year Dinner at Ostro

Ostro have put together some delicious set menus to celebrate the sea. The seafood platter including grilled crayfish, natural oysters, battered, oysters, storm clams, king prawns, kingfish crudo, ceviche and tuna ($240 for 4), is a must try. 

Auckland Lantern Festival

Enjoy hundreds of handmade lanterns while sampling the best of traditional and contemporary Chinese culture. Entertainment includes music, dance and theatre performers from New Zealand and China, martial arts displays and workshops, arts and craft stalls, food stalls selling delicious, authentic Chinese cuisine and a fireworks finale.
