Auckland Art Fair, New Zealand's premier showcase for contemporary art, is returning to The Cloud on Auckland’s Queen’s Wharf from Wednesday 1st – Sunday 5th May.
This year’s Fair will feature an incredible line-up of 41 participating galleries from across New Zealand and Australia, the Pacific, Hong Kong, China and as far as Chile, exhibiting significant work from well-known and emerging artists. 

Read on to find everything you need to know, about the Auckland Art Fair:

Opening Night: Wednesday 1st May 5pm – 9pm 
Be among the first to see the Fair alongside collectors and curators from all over New Zealand and beyond for a fun and busy evening.

Art Party: Friday 3rd May 5pm – 9pm  
On Friday evening gather your friends for late night access to the Fair combined with live DJ sets, and great food and drink options from pop up bars and eateries.
 
The Future of Art?
Join art world experts at a new talks programme devised by the director of the Adam Art Gallery Te Pātaka Toi, Christina Barton and presented in partnership with Victoria University of Wellington. 
 
Thursday 3pm - Bitcoins or Bullion? The future of the art market.
Friday 3pm - Back to the Future? Does the past matter?
Saturday 3pm - Taking back Tomorrow. What will ‘our’ art world look like?

Each discussion will be held at 3pm on the mezzanine of The Cloud, with places offered on a first-come basis.
 
Ngatāhi Art Fair Tours
Get a free guided tour of the Auckland Art Fair by directors and curators of some of Auckland's foremost non-profit galleries. Book in for your guided tour on Saturday or Sunday at the Samoa House Library Reading Room once you arrive at the Fair.
 
China Import Direct
Immerse yourself in this curated showcase bringing together ten of the most significant young Chinese video and digital artists who are working across a wide variety of themes and ideas from internet culture and future biology, to sub-culture identity and gender. CHINA IMPORT DIRECT is curated by Monumental Culture, Shanghai and will be presented in a container at the entrance to The Cloud.
 
Children’s Workshops
Designed especially for budding artists, the Children’s Workshops, hosted by Te Uru and Arts 4 Us, allow your child to take home their own masterpiece. You’ll find these workshops on the mezzanine level of The Cloud during the weekend.
 
Samoa House Library
Samoa House Library is an open and evolving educational platform that has emerged in response to the forthcoming closure of the University of Auckland’s Fine Arts, Music and Architecture and Planning Libraries.

For the Auckland Art Fair 2019, Samoa House Library – In collaboration with Ngatāhi, presents a reading room, a transitory space that reflects the fundamental importance of research and criticality to contemporary arts in Aotearoa.

Be among the first to see and experience the Fair. Access is for one person to Preview Day, Opening Night, Art Party and all public days, as well as a full programme of exclusive VIP events taking place around Auckland.

OPENING NIGHT $90/$95
Access to the Opening Night and all public days.

ART PARTY $35/$40
Friday evening late at the Fair, with artists, DJs and a cash bar.
Purchase eight tickets in one transaction and tickets will be $30ea, purchase four tickets in one transaction and tickets will be $32ea.
