Volunteer Impact Week

A different kind of happy hour
Volunteer Impact Week

Just 60 minutes of your time can make a significant impact.

If everyone in the University community volunteered for one hour, that would result in 190,000 hours’ worth of volunteering. That is equivalent to 21 years!

Imagine the change we could create collectively, by volunteering for an hour.

That’s why the University of Auckland has teamed up with New Zealand National Volunteer Week to launch Volunteer Impact Week (June 16 to June 22). During this week everyone is encouraged to make a positive difference in the world.

Signing up is simple. All you have to do is pledge to volunteer for an hour, share your stories and join or organise one of the volunteer projects below:

Lend a helping hand to an international student

Are you an alum with up to 20 years’ experience in the workforce post-graduation? Join NZ Workplace Insights, a programme for international students that helps them gain a deeper understanding of the NZ work environment. What it involves: just a couple of hours of your time to chat to your student about your career journey and possibly show them around your workplace.

Women's Mentoring Programme

The Women’s Mentoring Programme matches female business students with women working in business.

Donate your glasses to Samoa

The 2017 Young Alumna of the Year, optometrist Erna Takazawa, is in need of pre-loved glasses so she can give a new lease on life to people in Samoa with poor eyesight. Please help us to support her work by sending or dropping off glasses in good condition that you no longer need to either:
