Little Bird Unbakery Britomart

Little Bird will be closing their doors on Friday 21 December 2018.

Well loved Auckland health food cafe Little Bird Unbakery has spread its wings in the central city, nesting itself in a quaint little space on Customs Street East in the Britomart precinct.

Crafting food from nature's finest organic ingredients, head chef and co-founder Megan May's ambition is to serve nutritious high-quality, artisan foods made from only the 'good stuff.' This means that everything on the menu is raw, gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, free of unrefined sugar... you get the picture. What's more, one bite of any delicious morsel on the menu and you'll be a Little Bird convert.

The new Britomart store lives up to this ethos and more, with bountiful cabinets of Little Bird's infamous sweet treats and salads on display. Plenty of the menu favourites are also available. The granola or the Little Bird bud lock, a vegetarian interpretation of a salmon bagel, and similarly the BLAT, made with smoky coconut bacon are some of our must try picks.

The newest offering, unique to the Britomart location, is the selection of bottled nut milks, tonics and coldpress juices from the all new 'Squeezery'. Each of these elixirs are flavour bombs that pack a health hit.

The store is expertly designed by head chef Megan May's husband Jeremy Bennett, with every space well considered and utilised, shelves brimming with the Little Bird retail range, cute knickknacks and pot plants.

Catering well to the central city dweller on the move, all options are also easily packaged for takeaway, meaning you can pick up a tasty, nutritious meal, fast. With lunchtime queues out the door we can see already that the central city is very happy Little Bird has arrived.
