Auckland Art Gallery and Doc Edge Festival presents a special screening of Marti: The Passionate Eye, a unique tribute to one of New Zealand's greatest photographers Marti Friedlander.

Photography allowed Marti to negotiate a relationship with New Zealand and her curious and questioning lens has provided a thoroughly creative record of New Zealand lifestyles from the 1950's onwards.

The film is a very personal account of Marti’s life from early childhood to her introduction to photography and working life in London as a young, free-spirited woman, to her arrival in New Zealand and her introduction to its culture.

First screened at the Doc Edge Festival in 2005 this exclusive tribute screening will be held at Auckland Art Gallery from 2.00pm until 3.30pm with tickets available for $6.64.
