Some of the very best names in alt-country and Americana music take to the stage for the Southern Fork Americana Fest, a multi-night festival running 7-15 October.

Like previous years, the 2017 lineup does not disappoint with its stellar cast of local and international names, including lauded Nashville-born songwriter Justin Townes Earle (son of Steve Earle), who will appear on October 11th and 12th with support from Canadian-based quartet The Sadies.

With 20 albums under their belt since their formation in 1995, USA cult favourites Son Volt will hit The Tuning Fork on the 13th, with 2017 Grammy nominee (Best Folk album & Best American roots song) Robbie Fulks, who was named a “masterly and multifaceted” songwriter by The Chicago Tribune, taking the stage on the 10th.

Jonny Fritz, Robert Ellis and Cory Chisel will round off this year’s festivities with their super group side project Traveller on the 15th. Support comes from Nashville’s rising star Joshua Hedley, who is the most recent signing to Jack White’s label, Third Man Records.

This year’s lineup also includes a heady dose of New Zealand’s finest, with the return of beloved folk-noir act Eb & Sparrow who will launch the festival in style on a double bill with Auckland-based country-folk darlings The Miltones on Saturday 7th, followed the next day by local legends The Eastern with The Bads, who have recently released their critically acclaimed album, Losing Heroes.

The Shape I’m In: Hootenanny & BBQ will also return after its successful debut last year, featuring performances from the likes of Dave Khan, Reb Fountain, Tom Cunliffe and Hopetoun Brown amongst others.

2017 also sees festival passes available for the first time since the festival's debut in 2014. Passes will be in limited supply, so snap one up quickly before they sell out.

Presented by the Great South Pacific Tuning Fork, 95bFM and Under The Radar with support from Jim Beam.
