Our month of foodie fun is almost back

Restaurant Month 2016 is almost here. 


Restaurant Month will kick off on August 1 with an exciting lineup of restaurant events, a star-studded chef dining series and Street Eats - plus an array of incredible menu offers across the central city. 

Check out some of our delicious highlights from last year: 

Chef Dining Series 

A Taste of Matterhorn 
With five degustation courses (accompanied by delicious wine matches) and a performance by long-time Matterhorn residents, Wellington-based funk and boogaloo band The Eggs, a Taste of Matterhorn was a ball - and a very late night out! 

A Taste of Marque 
Two of the biggest names on the Australasian fine dining scene joined forces for a spectacular one-night only degustation. Mark Best and Des Harris collaborated for the first time alongside the award winning Clooney dining room to create an extraordinary degustation evening packed with truly adventurous cuisine. 

A Taste of Mr Hong
Ms G’s, El Loco, Papi Chulo and Mr Wong. Four of the hottest restaurants in Sydney, with one thing in common – Executive Chef Dan Hong, alumni of Longrain, Pello, Marque and Tetsuya’s. Dan teamed up with Sid Sahrawat, owner and chef of the award-winning SIDART and now Cassia for a special chef dining series event. This night was a feast of juicy, finger-licking food with punchy Asian flavours. 

A Taste of Federal Street 
We celebrated the gastronomic powerhouse that is the Federal Street precinct with chefs Al Brown of Depot (Metro Restaurant of the Year 2015), Sean Connolly of The Grill and Gusto, Nic Watt of MASU and Neil Brazier of The Sugar Club. All four courses were a delight and worked well to symobolise the personalities of the chefs who created them.

Street Eats 
This delicious day of premium street food never disappoints. With street style plates from some of the central city's hottest restaurants, food trucks and pop-ups, fun entertainment for the family and an overall celebratory atmosphere, Street Eats 2015 was a stunning success and a fantastic way to end our month of foodie events with a bang.
