Voyager Maritime Museum
The Explorative Spirit of a Seafaring Nation
Cast off for a journey to discover New Zealand’s story. Voyager tells the stories that created a nation, stories that have define our identity as New Zealanders.
From the first discovery by Kupe, to one of the most courageous migrations by the Polynesian peoples, to Able Tasman and then Cook. Our spirit of exploration was forged and the boundaries of possibility broken.
Voyager’s galleries recreate many of the defining stories of New Zealand’s maritime heritage. Our museum honours and celebrates those who sailed to the limits of their imagination.
Interactive and immersive, this museum is a great place for young and the young at heart. Try your hand at yacht design, relax in the bach, hoist the sails, hear the cannon fire, test your sea legs and batten down the hatches in the rocking cabin.
Join their crew for a sailing aboard the beautifully maintained heritage scow Ted Ashby. Enjoy the feeling of the wind in your hair, the sound of the waves and the smell of the sale air. Take in the city skyline including the iconic Auckland Harbour Bridge as she navigates the sparkling water of the Waitemata.
Bookings recommended, additional cost for sailing.
